Cupping is a method of relieving local congestion by applying a partial vacuum that is created in glass or plastic cups either by heat or by suction. Cupping has been used for thousands of years. Although it is often associated with Traditional Chinese Medicine, the entire world once knew this of therapy and used it. This therapeutic technique relieves pain and discomfort caused by the congestion of blood, mucus, or toxins. Cupping helps to improve local circulation and draw toxins out through the skin and out through the pores. Cupping can be effective for a wide range of ailments including joint and muscular pain, arthritis, edema, swellings, asthma, bronchitis, abdominal pain, stomachache, indigestion, headache, common cold and flu, fever, low back pain, painful menstruation, cough from excessive mucus and treats areas where bodily movement is limited and painful.
Please note treatments are only available to clients who have had an Initial Visit with a doctor.
Wet cupping takes the technique of dry cupping a step further. After applying dry cupping for about 3 to 5 minutes, the therapist performs shallow pinpricks cuts on the raised area on the skin to allow for the elimination of toxic blood and fluids. The shallow pinpricks will be performed by a sterile lancet, and a disposable cup will be used for the blood letting procedure.
